As the leading kids’ health system in the Washington, DC area and the only freestanding children’s hospital between Philadelphia and Atlanta, Children's National is dedicated to caring for children and our community.

Vermont Network Branding and Website

Client: Vermont Network

The Vermont Network is the federally recognized domestic and sexual violence coalition in Vermont. The Network unites fifteen member organizations and statewide partners to uproot the causes of violence in Vermont. The Network engages in public policy advocacy, training, technical assistance and social change to advance their work.

The Creative Industry was brought on as the creative partner to provide a branding package for their entire organization to reflect the growth of the non-profit. As part of this project, we redesigned their logo and updated all of their marketing collateral. The winning brand concept utilized one shape, duplicated and reversed creating a connected V and N. Together it creates a connected, energetic mark with a unified look and a kinetic feel.

The Creative Industry also worked with Vermont Network to build out its brand and online presence. We redesigned their website, providing a refreshed aesthetic and increased user functionality, plus a better back end Wordpress format for the organization to use internally to continually update their information.

First Focus Website

Client: First Focus

How do you take a heavily content based website and breath new life into it? As a DC web design firm, that was the challenge facing The Creative Industry. First Focus is a bipartisan advocacy organization dedicated to making children and families the priority in federal policy and budget decisions. Our goals were to stay inline with First Focus’s mission and to make their website:
  • Easier to use
  • Easier to maintain
  • Easier to navigate
  • Enhance overall usability and user experience
Website Evaluation:
The first step in a website redesign process is to evaluate the current site and determine what works and what needs improvement. When planning, we take into account user experience, the concerns, needs of the client, and trying to determine what future requests will be.
Website Design and Development:
Once a clear strategy is in place and site schematics are developed, we begin the design and development phase. We provide exciting and unique design solutions that fit the requirements and provided flexibility for further development needs.
WordPress Custom Theme Development:
In this particular instance, developing a custom WordPress theme from the ground up was the best way to achieve all of the requirements. This included:
  • Migrating and cleaning the old drupal database
  • Setting up a new mapping system to match the WordPress framework
  • Identifying and developing plugins
  • Creating responsive framework
  • Developing and testing theme
  • Building out the site
Evaluation:
After the site launched, we began the evaluation process and determined if any improvements needed to be made.

The Diener School Branding and Website Design

Client: The Diener School

The Diener School provides a nurturing yet challenging environment for students in Kindergarten through 6th grade with learning differences that supports academic and social needs.

We were tasked with rebranding, redesigning and developing their website to attract more visitors and create a more visually appealing identity that clearly demonstrates the services and mission of the school. We used wordpress website design to develop a cleaner updated website that the school administrators can easily update and mold to their needs. We built off of the colorful brand we designed, using crisp and vibrant colors with a clean type system. This gives the elementary school a sense of refinement yet playfulness.

RAA provides a unified voice of advocacy for North American regional airlines aimed at promoting a safe, reliable and strong regional airline industry and serves as an important support network connecting regional airlines and industry business partners, enabling them to share best practices.

We had the opportunity on this project to rethink the navigation structure of an antiquated and cumbersome website. Our vision was to bring content to their viewers in a clean and organized manner. Ultimately, the result is a website that accomplishes this, while honing in on a stronger branded look for the organization.

Modern Family Key Art Campaign

Client: 20th Television

Modern Family stars the Pritchett-Dunphy-Tucker clan, a wonderfully large and blended family. Together these three families give us an honest and often hilarious look into the sometimes warm, sometimes twisted, embrace of the modern family.

The Creative Industry was brought in to provide marketing services and develop the 2016 key art campaign which included transit shelter posters and billboard designs for affiliate networks.

After producing several engaging designs, the client chose this concept along with the "Pick a night. Any night." to complement the playing card motif.

The National Democratic Institute is a nonprofit, nonpartisan, nongovernmental organization that has supported democratic institutions and practices in every region of the world for more than three decades.

The Creative Industry contracted as a wordpress website designer with NDI to turn a report into an interactive website. This project helped to widely disseminate their information and mission. USG Integrated Marketing Campaign

Client: Universities at Shady Grove

The Universities at Shady Grove (USG) aim to provide the college experience of their 9 partner universities in one convenient location. In a similar fashion, we took this project on in hopes of bringing the message of USG to its audience via an array of varying media platforms. After brainstorming sessions,  we settled on our idea to show a split-screen of a student at USG, shown as both a student in their cap and gown and as they appear established in their respective careers.

This project was ultimately successful in reaching its audience through platforms of print (using posters in metro stations and printed on the sides of buses throughout the DC-Maryland region), through a unique landing page on USG's website, and through social media advertising.
